Saturate the South: Leader Health is aimed at helping build leaders who last, and also leaders who can live fully in the present. We will share a gospel paradigm from Jesus’ ministry that helps leaders pursue deep personal spiritual health designed to overflow into their homes, churches, and cities. This event, led by Abe Meysenburg, is for new or existing pastors, missional community leaders, small groups leaders, church planters, and all men and women who have a desire to see the gospel saturate their lives and respective cities.
Leader Health | What to Expect:
From speaker Abe Meysenburg:
When you examine your life as a leader, or examine the lives of those you are leading, we are repeatedly and intuitively asking one big question: What needs to change? For many years, I had a fairly one-dimensional view of transformation, focusing mainly on idols and repentance. The thing that needed to change was the worship orientation of my heart. While I still firmly believe that no lasting change will occur without repentance and faith, my own journey through a season of significant emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual burnout has broadened my understanding of change.
The Gospels clearly lay out a three-dimensional approach to transformation, over and over showing that Jesus came to call people to repentance and faith; to heal and bind up broken hearts; and to set people free from the oppression of Satan and his demons. We will spend time examining our own hearts and lives, and by the Spirit’s grace, begin to get to the bottom of what needs to change in these three dimensions. Engaging these three dimensions of transformation must be done in deep fellowship and relationship with the Triune God, which has led me to develop five spiritual disciplines (which I call “ways of relating”) that I had never really practiced before. We’ll also spend time discussing and practicing these ways of relating to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- Rich theology + practical spiritual disciplines
- Abe Meysenburg will show us a three-dimensional approach to transformation, based on Jesus’ ministry of calling people to repentance and faith; healing and binding up broken hearts; and setting people free from the oppression of Satan and his demons.
- Practical spiritual disciplines that promote a deep personal spiritual health.

Abe Mysenburg, Speaker
After spending most of their lives in the mid-west, including meeting and getting married in Chicago, Abe Meysenburg and his wife, Jennifer, moved to Tacoma, Washington in 1999 to start a family. In 2001, they planted The Sound Community Church, a church they would end up leading for 6 years. In 2007, The Sound merged with Soma Communities (now Soma Tacoma), where Abe served as a pastor/elder for 11 years, as well as serving on board for the larger Soma Family of Churches (wearesoma.com) for 6 years. After 19 years in Tacoma, Abe and Jenn followed the surprising call of God and moved to Huntsville, Alabama to join the staff at Summit Crossing Community Church as the Pastor of Shepherding. In addition to preaching regularly and helping give leadership to the organization, he oversees all of the shepherding ministries of Summit Crossing. He continually works to equip other leaders to shepherd and teach as well. He has written for gcdiscipleship.com, and is a member of the Biblical Counseling Coalition Council Board. Abe and Jennifer have four children: Abby, Julia, Luke, and Noah.

Jeremy Horn, Worship Leader
